HOW DO I ACCESS eProtest?
To access the eProtest system, visit our eProtest login website at https://eprotest.brazoriacad.org/ and enter your login information. You will need your OwnerID and PIN number to register a new account. Your PIN is case sensitive. Please enter your PIN exactly as it appears on your appraisal notice. Do not share your PIN; it is considered your signature. If you lose your PIN then you can request a new one by emailing sholtz@brazoriacad.org. Your deadline will not be extended while awaiting your PIN so make sure to request it well before the deadline..
IF YOU CHOOSE TO eProtest, HERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
eProtest does not allow for protest reasons other than Value Over Market and Unequal Compared to Others. During the eProtest registration process, you’ll be asked to select one or both of these reasons for protest.
The eProtest process allows you to file your protest electronically AND continue through the Online Appeals Process. You will NOT have a face-to-face informal meeting with an appraiser. ALL communication related to settling the hearing informally will be conducted electronically. Evidence must be submitted through the online portal website after your protest is setup (which can take up to 30 mins). If an agreement is not reached, you will receive an electronic notice containing the date and time for your formal hearing before the Appraisal Review Board (ARB).
After registering on-line and verifying your email address you will need to log in to your account to file your protest. If you are having issues verifying your email address then email sholtz@brazoriacad.org to get your account unlocked.
Please note that you cannot upload documentation or evidence for your protest until after the protest is setup in our system. This takes approximately 30 minutes after you click the second submit button. You can tell it is done when you log into the online portal and see that Protest ID no longer says "Pending" and instead has a number in it. Once that happens you can select the evidence view tab on the left side of the screen and upload any documentation or evidence you want the appraiser to review.
When submitting your protest you have a limited amount of time per section before the system logs you out (approximately 5 minutes per page). If you have a lot of information you are going to put into the comments then it is advisable to type it out before hand and then copy and paste it into the comment section. Please note that the comment section can only hold 1024 characters. If you have more to say than that then you can save your comments in a document and upload that document after you setup the protest. If you choose to do this please put in the comment section see uploaded comments so the appraiser will know you uploaded your comments as evidence.
E-mails from noreply-brazoriacad@trueautomation.com will be sent when the districts evidence is ready for your review. This evidence will be under the evidence view tab on the left side of the screen under the CAD Documents column. When a settlement has been offered another email will be sent to notify you. You can then login to the online portal and accept or decline the offer. If you ACCEPT the offer then the value you accepted will be the final value for your protest and the protest will be closed out as accepted. If you DO NOT ACCEPT, you will receive a notice in the mail scheduling your appearance before the Appraisal Review Board (ARB).
